A Vibrant Lakeside City

Toronto is a sparkling city that stretches along 20 miles of Lake Ontario's shore and follows a regimented grid pattern of intersecting streets. The city is made up of many distinct neighborhoods, including the Entertainment District, which is home to the CN Tower.

Downtown Toronto is the starting point to the longest street in the world, Yonge Street. This diverse city also features Little Italy, Little Portugal, Chinatown and Koreatown. You might also be interested in the fashionable Queen Street West, packed with boutique shops and popular bars.

The most populous city in Canada has many cultural experiences waiting for visitors, including the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Ontario Science Centre, or the secret passageways of Casa Loma. The Hockey Hall of Fame is a testament to this sport's widespread popularity in Ontario. Fans are encouraged to see the Toronto Maple Leafs play at the Air Canada Centre.

streets are busy all times, over crowded streets and shopping centres. during my visit keep hearing homeless, or drugged people shouting on the street it is uncomfortable to walk down the street. Toronto public transportation is great. do not drive inside downtown of Toronto, it’s too crowded to drive. it is very difficult to make a turn.

It was my first visit in Canada , and my first NHL game in Toronto . The apartment is on the 48th floor, next to the Scotiabank Arena. Toronto has a great transport system as you can take not only the subway and tram but also the train to wherever you want to go by taxi, so it was great. What I didn't know was that Toronto has a secret life, and that's the areas under the buildings where let you walk all over downtown, unaffected by the weather. This area is full of restaurants, cafes, boutiques and other shops. CN tower was really highly, scary but the view from there was beautiful. Niagara Falls ohhh was beautiful and powerful.

It was over 40 years between visits to Canada and my first time in Toronto, it did not dissapoint. Toronto is a big city and you are spoilt for choice with where to stay. We stayed downtown as it was close to conference venue. You will want to spend time exploring the different neighbourhoods and if you get time, I would recommend a tip down to Hamilton and to Niagra. All serviced by the clean and reliable GO trains from Union station. Cose to the city I recommend walking through Kensington Market - which is a district rather than a market. On the weekend this place is heaving. You have a pletohra of great restaurants and a people watching paradise. Closer to downtown, a walk along King and Queen streets will reward you with street art, quirky shops, some of the best vintage stores I have been in and food options galore. Can also recommend a wander through Chinatown (Between Queen St and Kensington Market. The Distillery District is worth a look if you have time. The old distillery makes for an interesting backdrop to new residental buildings, shops, bars and restaurants. The UP trains from the airport (Pearson) to the city are your best option to get into the city. Around $12 and about 25 minutes - well worth it and a lot cheaper than taxis and Uber. Enjoy!

I am no stranger to Toronto as I worked for The City of Toronto at Toronto City Hall for 40 years. Toronto is an exciting City to visit. It’s so clean, the people are super friendly, there are so many different types of food and restaurants to enjoy, so many wonderful attractions to visit - a trip on the Ferry to Centre Island is a must during the warm summer months, the Aquarium, take in a Toronto Blue Jays game, walk to St Lawrence Market. Visit beautiful Nathan Phillips square anytime of the year. Make sure to spend a day at the Toronto Zoo too.!!!! Go to The Pint right across the street for a pint and some delicious food and hang out with all the Blue Jays fans!!!!

The location is outstanding. You walk out of the hotel and you're in downtown Toronto, eight minutes from the BlueJays, 10 minutes from the lake, 15 minutes from the Art Gallery (Which is excellent), the only walk we took that was a little too long there and back was maybe the University/ROM. It's a beautifully finished hotel that somehow lives in a culdesac and bang in the middle of town. Ice cream place across the road (it's just a cupboard so you have to find it) is great, you should check it out.

As hotels in downtown Toronto are extremely expensive, Filmore´s Hotel is both affordable and close to the Dundas / Yonge attractions. The outward appearance of the building matches its tired age, but inside the rooms are comfortable and serve their purpose. Single men looking for an evening´s entertainment can be treated to an erotic show, chatting to friendly girls and more. Those not interested in such things, on the other hand, would be hardly aware of any of this going on.

The apartment is absolutely charming. My gf is very picky when it comes to accommodation, and if she is gaga about a place, it means twice as much as for anyone else. As a graduate from UofT from 40 years ago and resident outside Canada, it was wonderful to walk down memory lane. Everything you want from downtown Toronto is close by. I never met Margie, but what the heck, that's what we have social media for.

My first stay at this property was satisfying and I would consider staying here again. Staff was excellent and friendly. The room was a good value and met my expectations. This hotel leans towards functional rather than opulent and is suitable for a working trip or family stay in the heart of downtown Toronto. The location was interesting. We had two great meals within a 1 block walk of the hotel without even trying. Not my usual Toronto experience. Usually I stay downtown. This is not a boutique hotel - it is more akin to a youth hostel; rough around the edges, limited/poor amenities, poor construction, and dated/in need of renovation. It is not cheap either - definitely not worth the cost of the room - I've stayed in several in downtown Toronto recently and this is not a good option.
